Debbie Campbell

Hi, Brian:
I was shocked to see Julian's death announcement in the Guardian last week. I hadn't seen him since Glyndebourne days and so the image remains of someone young, healthy and with the future ahead of them. Very sad, and too young to die.

I can remember you giving him a rollicking once in the morning meeting for being sloppy in some way or another!

Hope all well with you and your family. We're still in Norwich - sons all grown up (one even married). I'm now running a centre at Norwich Prison supporting the children and families of the prisoners.

Love Debbie (Campbell - or Leggatt)

Peter Stenning

Hi Brian,
Both Dom and I were equally saddened to hear of Julian's passing and remember him fondly even though we'd not seen him since our Glyndebourne days....as you say, a charming, intelligent and self effacing man. I was Stage Manager on JPP's wonderful production of Falstaff and as a consequence worked closely with Julian both during the season and on tour.

Dom and I both well and nursing Diana C through a recent hip replacement. Both our boys living in Brighton and working in the Art world. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Love Peter and Dom

Isabel Maxwell

And this is from "Isi" Isabel Maxwell - dear old friend of Julian's from Oxford days where we (Nick, Richard, Julian, David and I, roomed together for a wonderful hilarious and blissful year, off the Banbury Road; and then Julian and I shared another place in Park Town - and all of us held a great affection for Julian and we are greatly saddened to hear of his passing and send our huge condolences to Jonathan and family and friends. May his sweet spirit live on in the music and opera and many friends he loved and touched, forever, and forever more.
