So I had what one might have expected to be a completely normal day in the office - the first day back after the long, too long, holiday break. We had the pleasure of welcoming a new member of staff, the excellent Rebecca. And then I spent much of the rest of the day trying to concentrate on the future.
As I have mentioned before, we are in the middle of great soul searching in the midst of the huge problems faced by arts organisations in the current economic mess. We need to concentrate on what this company is about - producing first class opera. If you know what that is then you understand. If you do not then you just don't get it. I have to believe that the former outweigh the latter.....
This is an ongoing process. We will complete this stage at the end of the week. We have a board meeting on Monday - and then we will go on......we have FANTASTIC plans for the next three years. And I can't tell you about them - keep watching!
