We had a really terrific party last night at the Mid America Club - a full house and we did not leave until nearly midnight. It appears that we made our financial target as well - and that is a huge achievement these days.
Of course the work involved for our hard pressed staff is enormous. But whilst the money earned is important the opportunities these events provide for our "extended family" of supporters to get together, to meet new people, and to share their enthusiasm for the company and their love of opera, is worth a huge if unmeasurable amount.
For a small company like COT with a season of quite limited length, such events are of considerable importance.
I am afraid I did not have my camera with me and anyway had more important duties as you might imagine. But I did grab this shot with a borrowed one which gives a flavor of the evening - nice orchids!
