Illinois across the Mississippi from Davenport, IA
We are pretty happy to be home after this two week epic. But if circumstances permitted, which they don't, we would be happy to do it all again. Or maybe Montana and Wyoming?
We made it back to Chicago this evening - 499 miles today. We motored across the really beautiful state of Iowa where the gently undulating hills are a lovely contrast with the flat plains of Nebraska. But there is still lots of corn!
And we had the pleasure of crossing the Mississippi in Davenport, Iowa, and lunch at a place on the river (where it flows east to west) - The Boat House. It is a great location but somewhat lacking in quality of food and service. Something of a missed opportunity. But not expensive......every cloud.......
I now have to get back into the Chicago groove. It will be a pleasure!
