Michael Beattie and Megan Rose Williams discussing V'adoro pupille
Michael Beattie, who is conducting our Teseo, gave a masterclass in baroque music singing and performance choices this morning. This was eagerly awaitied and greatly enjoyed by the dozen young singers who were present. Just five of them participated but all must have benefited from Michael's illuminating observations and inspiring knowledge and sensibility.
We try to provide these opportunities for our young artists. Over the years we have had some really wonderful teachers working with our young people. I was delighted to see one of those at last night's performance - the great Sanford Sylvan who gave a memorable class when he was here for The Flowering Tree in 2009. He is now teaching at McGill in Montreal - lucky Canada.
I captured a good many photos this morning. I will try to get them up on my photo site in the next few hours - maybe just two for each of the singers who may wish to download them and use them for whatever purpose.......so come back later. I have to have some supper and then I will get on to it!
PS for participants in the masterclass - there are a dozen or so pix from this morning on myTeseo photo site for the sake of convenience - some are better than others. Feel free to download them for personal use including on your websites or other publicity material. As usual some are better than others.......
