I stayed out of the heat for much of the day but was down town at midday for a lunch date. But I kept dry rather than choosing to cool off like the kids of all ages cavorting in the Crown fountain pools in Millennium Park.
I am leaving for London tomorrow so I had a good many last minute chores to get done. It was good to be out of the extreme heat. But this evening I continued my farewells to Chicago friends with a splendid dinner in Mon Ami Gabi - a really good French "bistro" in Lincoln Park. The excellent basic bistro food in complemented by outstanding service at the bar by Chicago's finest "mixologist" if that is what they call cocktail experts these days. This place has been a favorite for years. And it was full on this hot Tuesday evening.
Chicago continues to attract visitors in huge quantities in the summer. And there is lots of colorful stuff for them all to do. I alas will not be back until August 9.........
