As I prepare to leave Chicago at the end of August I am having a good time seing old friends who have been important parts of my life here over the last 13 years. And so it was today with lunch - with dear Gianna Davis who is of course a friend going back long before I came to Chicago 13 years ago.
And this eveing it was BBQ supper with passionate opera going supporters - the most knowledgable curious amateurs of the art form that I know.
It is beastly hot - and tomorrow will be worse. I will try to be more eloquent tomorrow. But life is going on.......
