I had a little decline on Wednesday, suffering from a summer cold/flu. So you will forgive me for taking a day off! And then we had this internet outage.....
Yesterday was back in action – horses in the morning though you will be glad to hear that I did not mount one. The younger members of the family did though and had a quiet hack through the fields in sunshine and a downpour.
We had a really delightful garden visit in the afternoon, to the exceptional Marwood Hill Garden just east of Barnstaple. If you are anywhere near this part of the world you would greatly enjoy this lovely place.

And the day, our last day in Devon, was rounded off with a huge party at the Rock Inn – all the family and a noisy one too. Nineteen of us…….
This morning, Friday, I am off early back to London. I have a busy six days before returning to Chicago on Thursday. This includes three operas and a Shakespeare play. More about that later.
