Heathrow during the last 12-15 months or so has been, without exception in my experiene, the most unpleasant airport in the world to depart from for an international destination. And I have seen a good many over the years and have flown 100,000 miles since January 2011. The security people have been consistently unnecessarily agressive and rude - ignorant and clearly poorly trained and poorly supervised.
But today they were transformed. Is this just the Olympic effect or a permanent change of attitude? Anyway I and many other passengers are duly grateful.
My two cents for this morning - I am now in AA lounge waiting to board my flight to Boston.
