It was a glorious morning in London - a perfect opportunity to pop down to Syon House which amazingly enough I have never visited before. It is just a 25 minute tube and bus ride from home and, as you can see above, it was looking totally delicious this morning. The conservatory is an extraordinarily graceful building. The house itself has some magnificent examples of Robert Adam's interior work. It is a special place to find in this in many respects rather dismal part of West London. But there is other beauty not so far away - Kew, Richmond, and some of the prettiest reaches of the River Thames.
I have a busy week coming up - the Wigmore Hall tomorrow, dinner with Matthew Epstein on Tuesday, lunch with Nicholas Snowman on Wednesday, the Wigmore probably again on Thursday evening. But the real drama is that all my stuff from Chicago arrives on Friday. I will have to turn a few tricks to cram all the stuff into what is inevitably a somewhat smaller space........I have a plan - can I execute it? We shall see!
