Parsons Green, London SW6 10:30 am Tuesday December 11 2012
It was a crisp bright morning today in London - a perfect opportunity to continue with my Christmas shopping list! And so I popped up to the best part of the King's Road on the 22 bus - just a 12 minute ride. And Parsons Green was looking extremely pretty from my bus stop. I completed my errands and was back in good time for an enjoyable lunch with Sarah Playfair, a distinguished and long standing friend and colleague.
Sarah is currently involved with the revival of Salad Days at Riverside Studios. This wonderful musical was first performed in 1956, and I remember so well as a teenager what a hit show it was. I will be fascinated to see it again after more than 50 years. It is a 1950s show - will it wear as well as Guys and Dolls, coming from much the same vintage? It will be so interesting. I am off to see it on Thursday next week.
It is now late afternoon - and I popped down to Putney for a few minutes as the sun went down. It has become chilly by London standards - definitely December. But how pretty it looked.
