There is a fantastic new development in north London, just north of King's Cross station. I was there today for lunch with my old friend Anthony Whitworth-Jones. He lives nearby and is thrilled by the wonderful development of his neighbourhood.
The Regent's Canal from Kings Place
The area already has the state of the art Eurostar terminal at St Pancras, providing service to Paris and Brussels and beyond. And for we music professionals there is the stunning Kings Place. And it was in Kings Place that we went for a delightful light lunch at the Green and Fortune Café.
This piece of urban regeneration is pretty typical of what is going on in the amazing city of London. The next big project will be between Vauxhall and Chelsea Bridges. The new US embassy is under construction there. I am fortunate to own a small apartment in the area - I hope to benefit.......
Kings Place is to the right
The joy of Kings Place is the extraordinary varied and enterprising programming under the remarkable leadership of the visionary Peter Millican. You just have to see the programme of Bach Unwrapped to see that this place is in the most trustworthy hands. I hope to get to a good many of their events over the coming months.
Tomorrow I will do my Coda/Epilogue for my little history of COT since 1999.
