Even the cloudiest greyest day can not destroy the charms of Venice. But tomorrow I bet this scene will look better. We are in for some sunshine and the glow on the buildings resulting from that, plus a blue sky, will be transforming. So it was a day to enjoy the fabulous fish, especially a marvellous zuppa di pesce at Osteria Garanghélo. You must get there if you can - a short walk through the market from the Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop.
And homage to a great hero, Claudio Monteverdi, was in order as well. His tomb is in the church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari.
