All went smoothly with the flight from London yesterday - except that the water supply expired and they threatened to stop over in Iceland for repairs unless we behaved. So we duly did and the plumbing somehow coped thanks to the self restraint of a full house load. The pilot spent extra gas to get us there faster but as we were about to touch down he zoomed into the air again because the aircraft in front was going too slowly and "not leaving enough space."
Anyway I was home by 4 and in the office by 8.45 this morning and therefore back on track. Its a short week - Wednesday is July 4th so we pause for thought. But today the usual immediate issues have been dealt with and we have a finance committee this afternoon. And tomorrow will be the time to deal with the rest of the not insignificant backlog. So its back to "Life as General Director of Chicago Opera Theater". Its so good to see all my great colleagues again.
