Bedford Place which runs between Bloomsbury Square and Russell Square
I had to spend some time around Bloomsbury this morning - this is of course the area of University College London, the British Museum, and the spiritual home of Virginia Woolf and Harry Potter! It id a seriously pretty part of London, and pretty serious too given the concentration of brainpower that lives and works there.
And in the glorious spring weather it was looking its very best.

And this evening I had the delight of seeing for the very first time Terrence McNally's Master Class. Here was a remarkable performance from Tyne Daly - not obvious casting but she a wonderful actor. It is on at the Vaudeville Theatre in the Strand untl the end of April. Not to be missed if you are in London. And there was the added bonus of the gifted Naomi O'Connell, a Juilliard graduate that came to everyone's notice as she rose through the ranks at school. And you can see her in the title role in La Périchole at Garsington this coming summer. It is directed by the ubiquitous polymath Jeremy Sams, also responsible for The Enchanted Island at the Met as well as for the translation of the Magic Flute with us at COT.
It is late and time for sleep............
