I am off this morning to Chicago for the memorial service for our beloved Gladys Wolff, extraordinary board member and friend during my 13 years in Chicago. She was ageless it seemed - in fact she was 97, a remarkable long life well and generously lived. We must celebrate her and be thankful. And that is what we will do tomorrow.
Today I have a long flight beginning at 7:45 am, then a happy evening with old friends this evening. And of course I will catch up with so many others tomorrow at the Gladys event! It is always great to be back in the city that was home for 13 years. I wish I could stay longer this time. Perhaps I will get back later in the winter - I must look at the CSO and Lyric calendars!
For now its an 8 hour flight...........
